I was introduced to hoof care back in 2002 and, unlike many people who first got involved in the barefoot world, my horse did not have any pathological issues or abnormalities. The problem I had were issues with people who gave a service, or lack there of, when it came time to take care of my horses feet. I had major problems with one provider and that led me to investigate a different way. I came across the website of a woman named Marjorie Smith and that is all it took. I read her site forward and backwards and everything she explained on her site made perfect sense, so I started down the road that changed the way I see horses all together. I discovered other people like Pete Ramey, Jamie Jackson, ELPO and Linda Cowles among others, bought many a book, attended many clinics, dissected many a cadaver hoof, which I continue to do today, and learned, learned, learned. Curiosity got the best of a few and as I demonstrated to others about what I had been accomplishing with my gelding, they, in-turn, allowed me to trim their horses and to this day I continue to attend clinics, when ever possible, read about new techniques and research constantly and learn every time I get under a horse as this learning experience never ends. I never expected the outcome to become a career, but I am happy it has as I love helping educate owners and helping their horses, especially the horse's with specific pathological issues, as as I get elated when I see them walk away sound and happy.

As far as what I do with my barefoot horses, I enjoy the sport of endurance, which is long distance riding on horseback in lieu of 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles. I prefer the longer distances of 75 to 100 miles and yes, we do those in one day, with boots. I am also an avid artist and you can view some of my work at thissite.
